Sumario: The article poses a reflection about epistemological theories related to teaching didactic field, differentiating with learning theories from cognitive psychology. Teaching is defined, a critical review of its characteristics, the possibilities of didactic knowledge produc-tion is analyzed and finally the aplicacionismo of learning theories in this field is problematized. The article encourages teachers to distinguish clearly between the two fields of knowledge, as in the classroom, both teaching and learning coexist and manifest as correlates of the same educational phenomenon, however, when the teacher understands their differences, practice is enriched because it can take or strengthen their epistemic stance toward the teaching office.
