The following dissertation consists of designing a model aimed at the collection and distribution of corn for the benefit of the farmers of the parish of Mulaló, allowing them to sell their products in warehouses in the urban sector of the city of Quito.
Corn is a large grain plant originating from America and of high consumption in southern countries. It has nutritional properties and is an important part of the diet of consumers in any of its presentations and without age limit.
According to information provided by the parish’s authorities, the small farmers of corn don’t take full advantage of the benefits of their production because at the moment of sale, intermediaries take part which pay low prices in nearby markets and therefore don’t allow the community of Mulaló to grow and develop.
Based on the concluded market research, it was identified that there exists an unsatisfied demand in the market warehouses of Quito and that the sale of the offered merchandise is feasible. Through a technical study the investment and necessary resources to create an Association were made possible. The financial study reflects the initial investment of working capital to be at USD 168,839.16, with a recovery less than two years into the course of the project.
Overall based on the completed studies, it was determined that the implementation of the Project would contribute to the development of the community, as it would be a profitable business that ensures access to large markets, as well as new alliances for growth, prioritizing the work of the community over capital but receiving the respective revenue for the corresponding market share. |
