The socialization eharacteristics of extremely poor ehildren coming from the slums of Lima are studied by the authors. Using a questionnaire 30 families, with a mean of six to ten members each, were interviewed. Results showed that these children have to adapt themselves to adult life and that they do not have their own status. Neither the emotional aspect, nor interindividual differences play a role, with the exception of gender differences. Results are discussed and compared to those of industrialized societies. |
