Sumario: The purpose of this article is to present the bibliographic exploration and the documentary analysis of a series of studies and investigations in Spanish, English and French, whose objects of study range from writing in scientific articles to the way in which diverse linguistic, rhetorical, institutional and individual can have an impact on scientific production. The sources come from databases and from consultations in libraries that displayed thematic trajectories on the subject in question. The main interest is to provide the reader with information that motivates him to carry out research on scientific writing, to shed light on the factors that affect the scientific productivity of university teachers in Colombia.
