Without any doubt the water is of extreme importance to the proper functioning of each
biological activities of the human beings, however its quality is much more important.
The objective of the following investigation is to determine the incidence of the water
quality and the variables that affect the service of clean water of the Mocoa
municipality in the period of 2005-2014. To achieve it, it was estimated an IDH proxy
as an indicator for quality of life and it was determined the cause and effect relationship
with the other service variables. The method used was Method of Ordinary Least
Squares (OLS). Once the study tools were applied and the analysis of the results were
given with them, there are two main aspects as conclusions; firstly that the quality of
life of the population of Mocoa is negatively related with the risk of the drinking water;
secondly that the inversion that is made in the municipality is of great importance for
the improvement of the quality of life in this town.
