This research work aims to explore and identify those damages that arise in the development and integration of contemporary architecture in the architectural heritage of the Historic center of Mexico City related to three dimensions to consider: the historical, aesthetic and functional. The development of research begins with a description of the historical and architectural history that consolidated what is now the historic center , thus seeks to understand more precisely the characteristics of the first interventions from colonial times to the nineteenth century , in the second part of the paper seeks to meet current interventions and recognize the effects of the above dimensions , from a tour of the architecture of the modern movement in Mexico City and the historic center, why it matters and how their recovery encompasses the implementation of new work where with support of literature, the respective interviews and survey the damages as a central part of the research work are explored. Finally, based on the effects that were categorized in the second part two case studies in which the form is exemplified how the new work is integrated into heritage buildings within the Historic center of Mexico City will resume
