The economics booms usually have temporary or permament effects on the economy and their differents sectors, its extension and depth depend on circumstances and decisions from each country or region. However when this effect is permanent we can speak about Hysteresis effect inside that economy, that is to say that some variables can´t return to its initial state after the boom has ended.
Therefore, this paper aims to check this hysteresis effect specifically on unemployment rate through unit root test on each period ending as follow: 1975-1980, 1986-1999 and 2003-2008, characterized each one to exhibit some trace of called Dutch Disease.
Key words: Unemployment, booms, economic sectors, hysteresis, Dutch Disease. |
