This study consist on the analysis of the relation between the values of the index risk quality of water for human consumption (IRQW) and geographical and weather variables (temperature and precipitation) that have the Department of Valle del Cauca in the period from 2012-2013. An analysis on the risk of water quality index for consumption was established from this human (IRQW) in the geographical area concerned such information with the influence that has temperature and precipitation on the quality of the water. The realization of the project ranged in three stages: the first consisted in finding and/or collection of information for the development of the project; at the same time were defined data selection criteria, to be the object of analysis. The second was based on the operation and the information processing was performed where the correlation between parameters that make up the IRQW and meteorological variables, precipitation and temperature in relation to the risk index; the third stage presents alternatives for surveillance and control that allow to know the advantages and disadvantages that the reporting of this information to the Department.
Among the obtained results; is demonstrated that the information used in the SIVICAP for the Department of study was not suitable for the calculation of the IRQW, since the municipalities didn’t make a consistent report of 22 parameters established in 2007 resolution (2115), so is discovered that on average it was reported at most 13 of them. With respect to each of the implemented stages demonstrated in very specific cases the relationship between the climate behavior and the quality of water as is the case of the year 2012, which was demonstrated that, in the municipalities of Palmira, El Dovio and Dagua, the precipitations and the values of the IRQW showed a strong correlation thus demonstrating a high level of risk of the water, influenced by the high rainfall which arose in periods of study. For his part in the year 2013 the municipalities of Tulua and Buga La Grande reported temperatures higher than 20°C that’s demonstrated a moderate correlation indicating an influence of the temperature over the quality of the water. Still, to must keep in mind the amount and frequency of data is subject to availability, taking into account that it is secondary information, however, and under these conditions were unable to identify the influence of climate behavior with the quality of the water. On the other hand, could it recognize the influence of industrial, mining and agricultural activities and the presence of weather for the period of study to demonstrate that the quality of water for human consumption is seen may be affected when you have a surveillance and relevant control, giving the case to legal regulations that recognizes the State and other government institutes. |
