This paper presents the results of a research in the classroom, with activities and strategies that encourage the development of autonomy in third graders from basic primary education. Using the qualitative method, an investigation was made about the formation of student autonomy. In order to collect the information, surveys were conducted with students and teachers, asking for their perceptions of autonomy, and they were interviewed in order to learn about the progress in the observed population. It was found that it is possible to promote autonomy with practices and strategies that make it possible to develop the argumentative, reflection, decision-making and responsibility capacity. It was found that, by promoting the moral and intellectual development of students, autonomy at this age is favored. |
