This reflection article aims to relate how the evolution of marketing in SMEs directly affects the development of skills of managers of organizations in a global scenario. The approaches of administrative sciences and, marketing approaches in particular, have changed significantly; however, the comprehensive training of managers regarding other functional areas such as production, finance, human talent and information systems complement the strength in the organizational leader’s management from the tactical and, in particular, the strategic guidelines. This reflection begins with the relationship between SMEs and entrepreneurship, as well as the important role of all levels of marketing within companies. Then, the role of managers is analyzed, together with the development of the skills necessary for the generation of entrepreneurial ideas through the creation of SMEs. |
