This paper documents the academic experience made with the course of Architecture, University of Pisa, in collaboration withthe Western Galilee College in Akko (Israel) and the Israel Antiquities Authority in order to achieve a project to restore the OldAcre Development Company of Akko. Fundamental aspect of this restoration project is the integrated conservation, which impliesthe knowledge and dialogue between social and cultural values together the story. The purpose of historic preservationis the respect with its authenticity and integrity, including the urban space. This work is shows the interest of city of Akko inthe redemption of cultural identity, purpose, expressed both in its institutional mission as well as the fact-specific to take thetheme of Restoration for one of the most important buildings of the historic center. The works, still take place under the controlof the Old Acre Development Company of Akko and unesco. |
