Sumario: Presently article study the roads of Lebrija and Sogamoso toward the river Magdalena like projects used to impel the speculationwith lands and the monopolizing of commercial routes. Keeping in mind that during the second half of the xix century,did one of the political objectives of the radical liberal in the Sovereign State of Santander consist on impelling the materialworks related particularly with the roads, is investigation it will leave of the question on which the benefits were obtained bythose individuals that were devoted to the construction of roads on certain areas of commercial influence? To give answer tothe previous question, they are approached, in the first place, the characteristics and natural conditions where the roads werelocated. In second place, the elements are analyzed that made part of the commercial circulation for these roads. Finally, itstands out the importance of the busy and sowed lands that they surrounded them. The projects on the construction of roadsare important for the regional study, in the measure in that it allows to see a group of individuals motivated by the one it intertwinesof interests on regions where they concentrated their own commercial activities.
