The teaching method and value of urban heritage, provides students with conceptual and methodological tools usefulfor providing –from inside the architecture discipline–, technical solutions which involve and articulate urban heritagewith the development and evolution of today’s cities. It starts with the recognition of the values for which an urbanspace can be considered patrimonial and continues with and evaluation so as to diagnose the problematic and associatedimpacts with each space to build intervention criteria that demonstrate the values contained by the studiedreference, values with which a collectivity identifies itself, integrates with and lives in. This exposes the challenges thatarise from such urban spaces for their integration as part of a recovery practice of the ancient city that bases itselfin the present situation and tries to rehabilitate depressed areas or conflict zones and integrate them once again inaccordance with the understanding and balance of their vocation, trends and possibilities. |
