This article shows that corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a field of study within the discipline of management which evolves “progressively” and is guided by experimental rationales. First, it tracks seminal articles on CSR within management and surveys of the evolution, origin and consequences of CSR; it then reviews the bibliography of articles on CSR published in high-impact academic journals. The bibliographic analysis indicates that CSR has effectively become a specific field of study which has evolved from regulated to positive and experimental expression. |
