Sumario: The purpose of the following article is to explore and further analyze the right to remain silent in the Colombian criminal system. Hence, a legal description is made of the fundamental right to remain silent with regards to the international legal sphere not only concerning human rights and its regulation but also, the ruling established under international criminal law. Additionally, a comparative law evaluation, in reference to such right, is made in order to establish the similarity or not of such institution under other legal systems to the Colombian legal manifestation of the right to remain silent.
