The paper analyzes the characteristics of the curriculum of political science in Colombia. It takes upon five dimensions it’s teaching in the country: 1) the intersections and convergences in subfields of the discipline, 2) the emphasis, 3) the curricula, 4) the political contexts, and 5) formative research. The central argument is that despite the diversity in the names and content of the curriculum, there are intersectionsthat form a shared core in the discipline. Besides intersections found, there are different degrees of development and consolidation of programs and a great variety and differences in emphasis as well as in the importance given to research training. |
