The consuls were the most important agents of the State in the zones of border. This article plans a panorama of the constitution of the consular Colombian service in the neighboring countries of the Amazonian basin. With base in documentary material, the study reveals that some of our consuls before or in a parallel way they had commercial interests related to the exploitation of resources of the region and that in spite of that his function was narrowly tied to the commercial topic they declared on diverse aspects related to the incorporation of the Amazonia. |
