Sumario: This article offers the qualitative case study results of the strategy Educating while reporting, an alternative proposal through which a newspaper can commit to the social function of education, while restructuring the way to address the act of informing, entertaining and the interaction with their readers. This strategy represents an opportunity to resignify the place of the current press in a digital and audiovisual context, and questions the disappearance of this type of media from its traditional use. Educating while reporting assumes this dilemma as a communicative-educational challenge, consistent with a view of the press as a social text, where it is interesting to go beyond the informative to strengthen the learning processes that is possible with these types of resources.
