This article is the result of a research project titled “Proposal for the implementation of a virtual reference service at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana’s General Library”, developed from 2004 to 2005 as the graduate thesis of the postgraduate program Specialization in Documentary Information offered by Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Bogotá, Colombia). During the research we undertook a methodological study to reassert the Javeriana Community’s urgent need to offer access to a virtual reference service, and from here we venture some final considerations and recommendations. |
