Sumario: In this article we examine different world educational models supported on Information Technologies (ITs) and their impact, in order to produce a Virtual Learning Model in Web 2.0 Technologies for Higher education in Colombia. We resorted to applied and theoretical, qualitative and quantitative research methods covered by an area usually known as descriptive and co-relational studies. The Model was implemented and then validated in two academic courses. The method basically comprised activities of learning-by-doing from a socio-constructivist approach: to read, write, construct, and publish both collaborative and personal contents in digital repositories on the web based on the students previous knowledge, critical thinking, and social context by means of new educational mediations and communication and interaction strategies in learning virtual communities.
