This article discusses the need for a self-reflective exercise on the knowledge production, evaluatingthe various relations of power that emerge in a research context, the interactions established by theresearcher and how these affect the production of knowledge. The above taking as input the comparisonof two field experiences narrated in first person, which include issues related to the exercise of sexualrights, maternity and adoption in Colombia. Contrasting the position of a native female researcherwho studies the universe she comes from and another one who approaches as foreigner, we intend todevelop a reflection on the impact of power relations and the meanings we carry in the construction ofthe object of study, as well as the challenges of the various interactions that emerge during fieldwork. |
