Sumario: In this study we present an adaptation of Social dominance Scale (Sidanius, Pratto, Stallwarth & Malle, 1994), which is studying its psychometric properties in a Chilean sample. Additionally, it relates to other relevant measures and psychosocial variables (authoritarianism, nationalism, patriotism, etc.). As it seeks to explain the phenomenon of gender invariance (Sidanius et al., 1994), as well as whether the scale behaves according to a standard univariate or multivariate structure (Jost & Thompson, 2000). The sample was made up of 304 participants and the results indicate that it would be a valid and reliable instrument for detecting the dominance in our social environment. The results show greater compatibility with the structure of two factors with the original character univariate, and ratifying the assumption gender invariance.
