Sumario: The objective was to reconsider the metric properties of the Ways of Coping scale from: the comparison of the original factors and the obtained ones by us; to evaluate the factorial structure our data and to compare it with the original one; to value the reliability of different factorial structures and; to consider the levels of prediction of the coping and social support respect to stress. The sample consisted of 250 voluntary participants. The factorial analyses of reliability and of regression showed that there is evidence no to consider that the scale is multidimensional but one-dimensional. Theoretical sustenance does not exist that allows to suppose the validity of theoretical concepts or underlying factors in this scale and the empirical analyses therefore show it. The real level of the scale is of general nature.
