Already in the year 1910, the Commission of Old Paris in the company of architects participated in the reflections on the new discipline of urbanism and then sought to implement a policy of heritage protection that could be integrated into development projects in the city. This attempt served as a model for the constitution project of the “Archaeological and Artistic Registry of Paris and the Department of the Seine”, an architectural and urban inventory developed between 1916 and 1928 that served as the basis for the heritage inventory in Greater Paris.
