Sumario: This degree work is a proposal from the qualitative research approach, which is characterized about how the addict, through a primitive narcissistic ego process, seeking substitutes as toxic to contain a possible ego overflow or a psychic fragmentation, from psychoanalytic theory. The interest of this research arises from the contributions and clinical and conceptual elements that enrich the understanding of drug dependence, from the individual experience of the subject and provide tools to each of the actors who perform recovering addicts. The intention to introduce psychoanalysis in the addiction is based on different explanations to supplement that have been made about drug addiction and even more, to intervene from the subjectivity of the individual, who is responsible for making the conscious suffering and mitigate their psychological distress. In addition, the prospect of psychoanalysis even pointing to each of the demands made laws regarding the care of this problem.
