The present work seeks to describe the legal and social context in which femicide is located, from a regional and local level, this being understood as the murder of a woman because she is a woman. The methodology used was that of documentary review, as well as the analysis of statistical data which allows to have a general overview of the question addressed. Finally, it concludes with concern the need to make the status of women visible in social contexts that in one way or another promote discrimination and violence, in order to ensure the guarantee of their fundamental rights, which is not reduced only To the availability of criminal types in the domestic legal system, but to state structural efforts that transform naturalized cultural practices, which affect the role of women in society. |
