A lot of works of degree have been realized on Cartagena of indies, his incredible beauties, his architecture and monuments of different historical styles that locate it in the ranking of the most beautiful cities to visit, more even, it is named as material heritage of the humanity by natives and foreigners who arrive at the city for terrestrial, maritime and air means; turning to the tourist sector in one of the strong points and of interest in the economy of the city, attracted in addition by his surprising beaches and islands which have appeared as the most important attraction of Cartagena. But this zeal to support and stimulate the tourist sector has caused that leaves himself aside the natural internal resources, because of it it is pertinent that our interest is directed one of the internal resources of our city (the lagoon of the goatherd) and with this to focus our efforts to obtaining a suitable joint of this urban system.
The development of this body of water close to the Ciénega de la Virgen, Caño de Juan Angola, Laguna del Cabrero, Laguna de Chambacu, Laguna de San Lazaro, Caño de Basurto y Ciénega de las Quintas form the most complete system of tubes, marshes and lagoons of Cartagena and of varied ecosystem that has not been controlled not treated correctly, taking as a consequence the lack of opportunities to develop sustainable projects with a view to the water. |
