Nowadays, companies are looking for different ways to cut costs, organize inventory levels, increase productivity and efficiency as well as meet the clients demands.
Cross-docking is a creative strategy that is quickly looking to position itself in the global market. Even though it isn't a new practice, it was only until about a few years ago that there was a resurgence of interest in this, because of its capacity to cut times considerably, control inventory management costs and delivery time, all of this makes cross-docking an appealing method for many companies that are fighting through economic pressure as well as the competition.
In the last year's, cross-docking has been implemented by many companies due to the interest it's awakened from business people in the logistics sector. However, there are still organizations that haven't started using this tendency but they still have time to see the opportunities to improve that is offered by cross-docking and that way consider the possibility of implementing it in the future at least for short term. |
