This research project was developed with the use of Six Sigma methodology applying each of its five stages.
With the increase in the production of Citric Acid from 30,000 to 40,000 tons a year, it was evidenced that the level of the TCC Filtering in the Receiver 6F79 began to register high variations causing constant overflows of the same and contaminating the cooling water of the Processes of Purification and Fermentation; Causing unexpected damages by chemical attack in the vacuum pumps and in the centrifugal compressors of those processes, generating costs in the process. Through the data collection system of the company, all the data of the identified variables are downloaded, which are analyzed through the statistical program Minitab. With the obtained results the best solution to the proposed problem is obtained. Finally, the improvement is implemented and in the control phase data is collected which guarantee the fulfillment of the proposed objectives. In this way, it was possible to reduce the variation of the TCC Filtering in the 6F79 receiver, eliminating the contamination of the cooling water and avoiding unforeseen damages in the equipment and costs due to the consumption of lubricating oil. |
