The research was developed through the qualitative method with a phenomenological focus and it´s framed in the concept of Social Representations.
The purpose of this study is to understand the representations about school has for boys and girls from five to six years old in La Nueva Jerusalén community, which belongs to the school integration strategy “La Escuela Te Abraza” in the Municipality of Bello.
The research was developed in the community mentioned before in a school known as “Torre Once” which counted on the participation of both, the school teacher as well as preschool and first grade students.
For gathering information, drawing workshops, puppets, story and body language were developed. Expressions, ideas or arguments given by children subjects of this investigation were further analyzed for the construction of the findings in relation to the representations that have children on their school.
The findings of this research were raised in four categories namely: School as a scenario that meets basic and fundamental needs. School as a fantastic place built on affection and joy. School as a space for play and socialization and school as a space for Flexible Learning. |
