During the last years, it has grown stronger as an autonomous field of philosophical analysis, mainly concerned with the concept of information. ‘Information’ is currently one of the most common and spread out terms, one that is present across several domains, from everyday language to quantum mechanics. Due to its ubiquitous presence and wide extension, addressing the concept of information philosophically constitutes a challenging and thorny enterprise. !is paper is aimed at providing some guidelines so as to distinguish
different kinds, approaches, contexts and interpretations of information. !ereby, it is shown that philosophy of information is a highly diverse and plural field, in which information meets as many meanings as uses or contexts. |
