This project "Acoustic Characterization of an industry in the city of Medellin by sound intensity based on PU probe" is oriented to test a relatively new tool in the world of acoustics, PU Probe (Pressure- Particle velocity), and it describes the theory, procedures, and results of acoustic measurements for the characterization of a plant producing concrete within a construction site by evaluating sound power as proposed in the ISO 8297 standard, based on sound pressure measurements. Then a suggested measurement protocol for estimating noise power based by means of sound intensity measurements with Microflown’s technology PU probe. In order to verify protocol’s applicability, results obtained by both methods were compared, and are presented. The results are sound power levels estimated intensity and sound pressure for controlled conditions in a tube under designed the ASTM E2611-09 standard, and concrete production plant in a construction site. In addition emission noise map industry mentioned in SoundPlan performed using as input variable with the estimated pressure levels measured with PU probe power. |
