The scope of the recent demonstrations that have jeopardized gerontocratic regimes and the participation of the youth population in the protests through the intensive use of the Internet, require immediate re!ection. Nevertheless, the writers forget that young people did not come to public life in the last year but they respond to longerterm processes that refer to a stage that came out in the sixties e aim of this paper is to analyze some edges of the notion of youth in order to remember how the sixties and the seventies were the decades with the greatest social and political participation of a generation that ended up disappointed with the utopia. It ends with a brief approach on the use of the social networks and the new ways of communication in the organization of global protests in di"erent parts of the world. |
