The is article is a refl ection after reviewing a phenomenon that has signifi cantly grown all around the world and particularly in Latin America: Urban informality. Th is fact has been studied from the perspective of diff erent disciplines, but this time it is approached from Law. Considering regulatory and legal aspects along with contributions from other perspectives of analysis, it aims to identify how this complex phenomenon is transformed through legal institutions, more precisely through participation in urban capital gains, based on the idea that while the City Council becomes fi nancially stronger and controls land prices, it obtains enough resources to achieve better levels of equity for those living in informal sectors. |
