Sumario: In this revision of the contemporary idea of “stable”, “autonomous” or “unique” identity, it is analyzed, in order to give priority to the study of the issue of “alternatives of identifi cation in the contemporary world, considering identification as a multiple, temporary and changing process, where a decisive role is played by the social interactions and the daily situations in which youth live and are transformed in the midst of dissimilar orientations and unfocused models. This arises from a psychologi-cal and psychoanalytical refl ection that is made in order to then study the sociological interpretations of social interaction. From this refl ection, it is understood that identifi cation processes are not only considered in terms of internal psychological aspects, but rather, are connected in a radical way to sociological, psychological, cultural and historical issues.
