Sumario: This article is aimed at an approximation towards the definition of the indigenous movement as a new social movement, using different theoretical interpretations, enlarging its analytical appraisal. Under this criteria, this text will attempt to solve questions such as: What are new social movements? Why is the indigenous movement a new social movement? How do you build the collective identity of the indigenous movement? How does the movement organize itself and mobilize its resources? To this end, two scientific interpretation approaches of these new social phenomena will be used: the Paradigms of Collective Identity and Resource Mobilization.
