Sumario: The article analyzes the cultural and social processes related to the enactment of Law Nº. 12,842/2013, known as the “Medical Act” law, in Brazil. From data collected on the web, we undertake a review of the main manifestations of the categories of health professionals, in debate of Law, here defined as identity politics. The diverse assemblages of these episodes operated professional categories will be discussed from the perspective of societal actions, setting taut arrangements of identity politics and health policy. It is considered that these arrangements have become more important in shaping the public policy agenda for the benefit of medical hegemony within the Unified Health System-SUS, in Brazil.
