From search theory was estimated in this work a model with which to found the main determinants of the duration of unemployment in Colombia based on information from the Gran Encuesta Integrada de Hogares June 2008. The model considered Weibull distribution type and it was estimated by maximum likelihood according to the methodology suggested by Castellar and Uribe (2003). From the results obtained it was found that gender, education, experience, socioeconomic status, size of the metropolitan area and the economic sector in which you work or seek work, determine the duration of unemployment. |
