No one denies the fact that they have ever heard that witches exist. They have been an essential component in our lives; however, how is a witch built or created in our territory? It all begins with the Spanish Inquisition, which judged women accused of flying in the air and making satanic pacts and rituals, as happened in Cartagena in the seventeenth century. But these facts were not verifiable as others were. A political end was hidden behind these practices. A wealthy Spaniard who had a slave accused of witchcraft lost all economic dominion over her and the Catholic Church snatched her to try and murder her. |
