In the movements of deep ecology and ecofeminism are critically examined traditional philosophical paradigms, to find alternative conceptions which could guide Western cultural transformation towards a relationship with nature based on respect and responsibility. This requires, in the case of deep ecology, go for the recognition of intrinsic values and purpose in nature, and from ecofeminism, look for the deconstruction of patriarchal perspectives and dominant relationships with the natural world. It should therefore reflect on some of the conceptual and theoretical basis with which attempt to justify radical cultural changes, mainly in developed industrial societies, to deal with hope, to various current ecological crises. |
