Sumario: The main objective of this work is to conduct a comparative analysis of institutional self-assessments in the official educational establishments of the district of Buenaventura, carried out in the years 2014 and 2015, to determine their contribution to the evaluation process and to the improvement of the educational quality region of. The existence and development of this activity was based on the quantitative methodology and the use of technology, for the processing and systematization of the data, as the basis and starting point of the inquiry exercise. An analysis of the status of self-assessments at the local level was carried out, comparing total results, averages and percentages, based on the different approaches of the IEP, its processes and their respective components. In this way deductions are inferred that provide realities of the school management and allow to show in which situation the different educational institutions are. It is then sought to reflect on how the self-evaluations, are carried out within institutions; And the relevance of these, both in bad and good educational results; In addition, how much the high director of educational services leads this type of processes, how they respond to each component evaluated, what appropriation they make of them and how the continuous improvement is perceived.
