Sumario: Objective: knowledge and attitudes that have parents of children from 3 to 12 years with inadequate oral habits. Methodology: It is a cross-sectional descriptive observational study, a single population measurement was conducted, a non-probabilistic directed sampling was conducted, a total of 65 parents of children with oral habits attending the university's dental clinic were taken. Rafael Núñez. Identified the knowledge and attitudes that parents had about inappropriate oral habits through a survey. Results: The highest proportion of parents were in a range of 28 to 32 years representing 26.15%. The majority of the population belongs to the female sex with a percentage of 95.38%. it was possible to demonstrate that the greatest number of the surveyed population belongs to a low stratum with a percentage of 66.15%. It was evidenced that 70.77% of the parents have knowledge about the habit concept. It can be analyzed that 52.31% of parents recognize the impact of habits on the alterations of the articulation of words. Conclusion: It can be concluded that the surveyed parents have confusion about the concept of oral habit and the types of oral habits because they are confused with oral hygiene habits, however, it was evidenced that the parents have good knowledge about the impact of the oral habits. inadequate oral habits in the orofacial growth and the development of the articulation of the words. In terms of elimination techniques, parents use wrong techniques to eliminate habits.
