Sumario: On March 6, 1972, sociologist Orlando Fals Borda, a native of Barranquilla, arrived in Monteria. He was commissioned by the Rosca Foundation for Research and Social Action to work on the Coast, based in Monteria. The work of Orlando Fals in the peasant movement of Cordoba was of a high-impact, but controversial and treated in an unjust manner. Although he worked especially with the managers and leaders of associations of the city of Monteria and in Cordoba department, its programs and actions affected the entire movement. However, Orlando had to live with many stigmas despite his explanations and open work done. Newly arrived from Bogota, I had references of some works of Orlando. When I realize that he was in Montería I looked for him, we talked several times, I felt identified with the plan he had and we decided to work together. It was this intense, creative and risky work which allowed me to get to know Orlando as a person, humanist and intellectual honest and committed.
