Sumario: the objects that surround us were made from materials that were discovered, explored and applied at some point. An exploration of the banana bioplastic is performed with an industrial design perspective, to analyze the capacities that it has against other plastic materials and to determine possible applications in product design. This material has greater capacities of degradability in comparison with other plastics. To reduce the consumption of these materials from petroleum, the bioplastics contribute in some measure to the protection of the environment. The explorations to be carry out are of aesthetic, formal and applications, with forms designed to document the procedures of each test and the results found, seeking to find similarities with other materials and determine their possible applications. The results were presented on an exhibition to share the knowledge gathered about the characteristics of this material, which has been researched in Panama, Colombia, Mexico and the United States
