The Urban Renewal Project (PRU) "Ciudad Paraíso" aims to renovate the downtown area of the city of Cali, Colombia. Ciudad Paraíso will be located in the Calvario, San Pascual and Sucre neighborhoods. It brings together 4 projects, the Ciudadela de la Justicia, the partial plan of the El Calvario neighborhood, of San Pascual, and finally, the partial plan of Sucre.The San Pascual neighborhood is mostly made up of older people, who usually have lived in the sector for many years. Through semi-structured interviews and a tour of some areas of the neighborhoods involved in the PRU, the necessary information was collected for the development of this qualitative and descriptive research, which had as objectives: To know the meanings and symbolisms built by the elderly regarding at the PRU "Ciudad Paraíso", understand the meanings and symbolisms of the elderly regarding the public space of the sector, identify the meanings and symbolisms of older people regarding their living space and finally investigate with the elderly in the sector, how they believe that will affect your life projects the PRU "Ciudad Paraíso".Among the most important results are the feelings of anguish and uncertainty that the PRU has generated in the community, because the idea of losing what they have built over time, not only the physical structures, but also the feelings generated to Starting from the significant experiences of their life, they question them about their future. |
