Generally, amide-type analgesics (lidocaine 50mg, bupivacaine 20mg) are safe in medical practice, however, our case lies in the analysis of the alterations of cognitive and executive processes after the procedure of blocking the adductor canal of the leg. left guided by ultrasound, however, the scientific evidence supports the transitory neurological syndrome (SNT), there being no clarity in the duration of the problem at the cognitive level, which is classified from mild intoxication, moderately and severely, generating in our patient a prefrontal syndrome characterized by apathy, mutism and akinesia, becoming the first case that establishes the causal relationship between the intoxication of amide-type analgesics and the prefrontal syndrome, illustrating the reader's knowledge of the neuropsychological profile and the importance of neuropsychology before and after a medical procedure with analgesics type amides |
