The project with the theme "Alternatives of the resistant earthquake design for the
Parra Pedraza project" considers the comparison of two alternatives: Reinforced
concrete and structural masonry.
For the calculation and structural design of the first alternative (Reinforced Concrete)
the Ecuadorian Construction Standards NEC 15 corresponding to the chapters are
considered: loads, seismic hazard (resistant earthquake design) and reinforced
concrete structures.
Regarding the modeling of the structure will be used computer programs such as
ETABS 2015 and SAFE 2014, while for testing sections obtained by modeling the
structure will be used programs made in Excel 2016 sheets.
In order to obtain a real budget for the building, we consider the performance of labor
and prices of materials concerned granted by the CAMICON construction costs
manual, while the structural plans were made in the ACERES program.
In order to identify the design, modeling and structural calculation of the second
alternative (structural masonry), we consider the NEC 15 Construction Standards
corresponding to the chapters: loads, seismic hazard (resistant earthquake design) and
structural masonry.
