Sumario: The consumption of a gas cylinder for an average family is one or two cylinders per month. As a result of this need, there are several companies dedicated to the manufacture and repair of gas cylinders. Every day, these companies seek to improve their processes and administration in order to get better returns in the future and contribute to environmental conservation, not only for the organization but also for humanity. This paper’s main purpose is to present the manufacturing process of cylinders with all its activities and to develop a pattern of environmental audit; allowing to improved control and a continuous measurement of the likely risks of the company TECNOESA S.A. As a result of this study, priorities were established and deficiencies were identified in different stages of the production process, according to the environmental impact, among the most relevant risks are: Cutting Line, Gripper and Bases, Shot Blasting, Mechanical and Electric work. It is required to apply the criteria design “Environmental Management of Hazardous and Not Hazardous Wastes” which involves regular monitoring of the different areas and production processes for the use of space, safety equipment and environmental control under the Acceptable Risk Assessment. The outcome of this study lead us to determine the criteria for good environmental practices in the production processes that must be taken into consideration to establish policies and techniques that should comply with regulations established by the Authorities of Control (Ministry of Environment, Municipality of Quito) responsible for overseeing its implementation.
