Sumario: The potential of an area for farming depends mainly on two factors, climatic characteristics and chemical behavior - physical soil, which influence soil fertility and hence its profitability. Parishes are in the area of influence of the irrigation canal Cayambe - Pedro Moncayo are eminently agricultural because of their agro-climatic conditions, it was necessary to recognize the potential use of land for the establishment of pasture in the area of influence of the channel Cayambe-Pedro Moncayo, for which the climatic behavior of the last ten years (Yearbook INAMHI stations Tomalon and Olmedo) was analyzed, in addition to analyzing the physical and chemical soil results.
