Sumario: This project is based in the community and is designed to improve the quality of life for all inhabitants of Palmira community, taking into account issues such as income, employment, health, education, food and basic conditions for a dignified life. The Palmira parish is located in the province of Chimborazo Guamote, has 12297 inhabitants of which 12149 are in poverty; income in this community are concentrated in agriculture and livestock. With technological advancement and the intense competition that has in the canton and around these activities have been depleted, is why the income level has decreased significantly in recent years. This project proposes the creation of an alternative and renewable source of income through community tourism. Tourism in many countries is considered a stable source of income as it provides an opportunity for development in different sectors of the economy. Community tourism unlike traditional tourism encompasses the entire community and does involve the same for all activities, generating additional income to the daily economic activities and in turn protect and enhance local cultural and natural resources. Is for this reason that this plan is focused on this type of tourism. This project has the support of the vestry of Palmira and their respective authorities thus the creation of the Tourism Community Center Palmira as an entity attached to the Parish Self-Government intends to take advantage infrastructure and adequately funded through a percentage of the central government budget allocated to each GAD.
